Membership is open to anyone who shares our visions and dreams for Matebeleland. We are engaged in the provision of an understanding of development needs of the region of Matebeleland, highlighting and strengthening Matebeleland development campaigns and struggles, mobilizing people to take charge of the problems facing the region and thus breed self-sufficiency in the region by reducing dependency on the central government for development, development of projects that will benefit the region. is a non-partisan not-for-profit NGO founded in November 2008 by Freeman Ncube, is driven by a vision of sustainable development. Our objectives inter alia are; to develop a framework of understanding the developmental needs of the region, plan, formulate and implement development projects congruent with those needs (thus we aspire to give voice to the voiceless both at national, regional and global level), to enhance collaboration among civil society groups, media, government organisations on focused policy changes and enabling process for attracting and effecting development in Matebeleland.

The main thrust of the initiative is to empower Zimbabweans in general and peopled originally from the region of Matebeleland in Zimbabwe in particular to take charge of the challenges facing their development and thus come up
with home-grown sustainable solutions.
The initiative was born out of a realisation that Matebeleland region lags behind other regions of Zimbabwe in terms of development. Our future, is in our hands and we believe the people of Matebeleland are part of the solution to the underdevelopment of the region.

However, there is lack of social organization on a larger scale to mobilize resources for meaningful development in the region, hence the vision to establish, meant to facilitate the channelling of development to the region in a unified and coordinated manner. pledges to remain an apolitical development-centred and reference initiative.
