Luckson Mujati to spearhead International company's footprint in Zimbabwe

SSI Engineers & Environmental Consultants, founded in 1922 in Johannesburg, South Africa, is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting company which focuses on the complete spectrum of lifecycle needs within the disciplines of transport, water and sanitation, energy & resources, buildings and structures, project and construction management and the environmental fields.

The company, with African offices in South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana is proud to announce the expansion of its African footprint to once again include the recently rebranded SSI Zimbabwe office. Formerly known as Stewart Scott Zimbabwe, the office was opened in 1951 and has, over the years, been a significant contributor to the infrastructure development in Zimbabwe. With the growth of the Zimbabwean economy, SSI Zimbabwe is proud to be associated with the expansion of the local infrastructure to its full potential with the utilisation of skilled engineers, scientists and environmentalists.

SSI employs approximately 900 technical and support staff; including about 40 Zimbabweans, across the various engineering disciplines and these personnel will once again be central to the SSI contribution in the infrastructure development in Zimbabwe; supported by an international pool of highly skilled experts from the DHV Group.

Spearheading the Zimbabwean expansion is the newly appointed country manager, Mr Luckson Mujati. Born in Chivhu, Mr Mujati has worked for SSI since July 2007 as an airports engineer and has been responsible for managing local and multi-national   projects and maintenance works on various sites throughout Africa. Before joining SSI, Luckson worked in Zimbabwe for nine years as a civil and airport engineer. He has a wider understanding of the Zimbabwean specific infrastructure planning, designing, construction and maintenance.  He holds an MSc in Project Management from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, as well as an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe, a BSc Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Airport Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Notable are his achievements in strategic projects like aviation planning and project management for aviation related projects for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. In his spare time, he enjoys being actively involved in social and community projects involving education.
