He is now facing rape charges at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts.
Chakanetsa Musikavanhu (30) was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate Mr Archie Wochiunga, who remanded him out of custody to December 15 on US$30 bail.
Appearing for the State, prosecutor Miss Tinashe Kanyemba alleges that on November 28 this year at New Government Complex located on Fourth Street between Samora Machel and Central Avenues, Musikavanhu who was in the company of three other policemen was at the complex with the woman and her friend.
Musikavanhu allegely told the woman that he wanted to see her privately and asked her to follow him.
Upon arrival in a room Musikavanhu closed the door and grabbed the woman’s waist but she shoved him away.
Musikavanhu allegedly pushed her to the ground before removing his clothes and raping her.
After the alleged rape the woman reported the case to the police and she identified her assailant at a parade.
A medical affidavit will be produced as evidence in court.
